Chamber FAQs

How is the Chamber Structured?

The Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit business association governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of individuals from a broad cross-section of member businesses and organizations. The policy and procedures set by the Board are carried out by the staff of the Chamber who manage the day-to-day operations of the organization.

How does the Chamber keep me informed?

Newsletters are created and published online monthly. You can also request to receive your electronic newsletter by email, which can also be downloaded and printed. The Chamber also sends out weekly 'e-flashes' to members, keeping them informed on current events and issues. The Chamber now also publishes a monthly paper (Kingston Business Today) in partnership with Metroland Media.

What advertising opportunities are available through the Chamber?

Advertising opportunities include electronic newsletters, Chamber website, Kingston Business Today as well as sponsorship of Chamber Breakfasts, Business Mixers and special events such as the golf tournaments, President's Gala and Annual General Meeting.

How do I find out about events?

How do I find out who else is a member of the Chamber?

How will people know I am a Chamber member?

Display your membership decal in the window of your place of business. All members also receive a membership card as proof of membership. You are encouraged to put the Chamber logo on your advertising material and your website.

What if I can't actively participate?

By being a member, you are supporting an organization that represents your interests in the community. Your most important participation is simply signing on as a member.
